 Tennis News

Labor Day Tennis Tournament

The Labor Day tennis tournament will have a little different format this year.  The Women will play against the Women and the Men against the Men through the round robin, semi's and up to and including the finals.

The Men will play Friday August 29th at 7pm and the Women will play Saturday morning August 30th at 9am. The semi's will take place on Sunday August 30th with both Women's and Men's finals being played on Monday September 1st at 5pm.

At 5pm on Monday September 1st, there will be a cookout at the tennis court pavilion.  Sign up for the tournament on line at http://bit.ly/1rGb5Cr.  Both Men's and Women's will have a maximum of 24 players each so sign up TODAY!

We still need volunteers to help run both tournaments and for the cookout.  Please e-mail Dave Johnson at dsj41@mindspring.com to help out.

After School Tennis Lessons

After-school lessons will be starting 8/27 & 8/28, on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We will have at least 2 coaches, and all ages will attend together -that format really worked well this summer.

Class times will be 4:30 -5:15. We will hold the lessons in sets of 4; the fee will be $35 /4-lesson session. Rain-outs will be made up,and we will, of course, skip any holidays that would affect attendance.

Students are welcome to sign-up for either session, or both. If your child would like to participate in the tennis lessons, but is unable to attend either of these classes, please let me know, and we will try to schedule a class that works for your child's schedule, if others are also interested.

The young tennis players of LBC who attended the summer camp and/or the weekly lessons were terrific! It was a real pleasure working with them. I feel that the after-school lessons will be just as fun and productive!

If you would like to register your child, or have questions, please email FiTennis@aol.com or call 770-369-1563 coach Janet Harpold.
